Game minimises itself at main menu and won't let me go back.

I've been having this issue for a month now, the last big patch did not fix it, neither did the last minor patch so I sure hope what comes next does it. 

It's always in the main menu, after I click away the advertisement spam it pretty much always minimises the game and won't let me go back. I have to shut off the process to get it to stop, I guess it crashed since I can't shut it off another way, hard to tell when I don't see what's happening in the game. 

On rare occasions I did get through, can play as normal, no problems there. It's always at the main menu.

    thefirsttemplar​  Does this happen if you launch the game in windowed mode?  To test, pen Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, search for fullscreen , and set it (just fullscreen , not anything else with that in the name) to 0 (zero).

    If that doesn't help, please remove your Mods folder and try again.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just a test.

    If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
