Sim leaving early from work

Hello everyone,

I know this is an old, supposedly fixed issue, but it is happening again.

I saved and closed the game right after my sim went to work. These sims had just moved to their new house, so when the time to work arrived, there was the welcome wagon going on, and also the current event (Forever friends) was on.

When I launched the game and opened the savefile, my sim came automatically back from work, earning just $4. I don't know if it is somewhat related to the events going on, but this had not happened after the last update.

Please, I need a fix. That household has $300 in their account and they need the money, specially when both of them will work again in three more days!
