Everytime my sim is cooking or completing certain tasks, she just stops and stands there right in the middle of doing something. I usually pause for a little bit to let it catch up but I'm not trying to do that forever. Does anybody know what the deal is with that??
I'm having the same issue, some tasks don't even fully complete (eating a dish) or at other points they stop what they're doing half way to do something else, usually with a piece of clay that appears from nowhere.
@SheriWillJW28 and @sharonlynette Have you tried repairing the game in Origin? Open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@sharonlynette At least part of what you've described is likely due to various neighborhood action plans, for example the creative arts plan inspires sims to pull a lump of clay out of thin air and start playing with it. There's not much you can do about this behavior in existing saves, unless you want to use mods.
