Sim wont have baby at hospital

So i was playing the sims as you do, my sim went into labor, sent her to the hospital (using get to work) and when she got there she just wouldnt check in or go and have her baby, the pop up that says 'have baby at hospital' come up 3 times even though she was there and even after reseting the sim she still stood there clutching her belly.

eventually the game sent her to have a home birth, but she literally was stood there for multiple sim hours. Her husband is also a doctor, so i think him going to work and her going into labor at the same time just made the game clash a little. 

Any reason why this happened? Is it new? I have just bought the new decorator pack so maybe that has something to do with it?

    I did click on the desk to check her in, alot of times.

    and no i didnt edit the lot at all, i can never be bothered with that.

    @friendsfanatic20  Just a tip for future use: if you choose the option to Save As when saving, and name it in a way you can remember what happened, you will always have backup saves to revert to when issues occur, as they often do in the game. It is the same game, just an individual save point.
