Sims 4 app won't open it just opens EA

Ive had this issue a while now. Sims 4 app wont open when i click on it. It just says preparing game and throws me into ea sims 4 page. Nothing i did helped.

Ive tried deleting the game, the save files, repairing, deleting the cache from ea, ive tried to move sims 4 to desktop but nothing happens bc it says my sims 4 are no longer installed when i do that.

  • @juvancic  The idea is to move the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts to the desktop, not the Sims 4 folder that contains the game's program files.  However, if you've installed the game itself into Documents > Electronic Arts, that would explain why Sims 4 appears to not be installed once you've moved that folder, and it also may explain the underlying issue.

To check, please open the EA App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > View properties.  You'll see the install location there:

If it's anywhere in Documents, please list the full file path, and don't do anything else.

Otherwise, move the Sims 4 folder that's in Documents > Electronic Arts and see whether you can play.  If not, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
