I got this bug today. Tried to play with caches in documents folder, overrided game settings in nvidia control panel, window mode with lowest game settings - nothing helps. All 2 monitors became black and no other program is visible. Except windows task bar. But when hoovering mouse on sims game icon on taskbar then all became visible in preview mode.
I still can't get how game can impact on both monitors globally, outside game window.
I am also having this problem, and though my graphics card is of a lower quality then you guys, this is my only issue so far. But it is one hell of an issue. The game works absolutely fine on the highest and lowest of settings. I am currently re-installing Origin and then going to re-download game. Not sure why, but I am desperate AND people keep telling me it is my graphics card when that is clearly not the case.

I got mine to work and I'm not sure exactly what did it or if it was a combination of a bunch of things. Firstly, I am playing in windowed fullscreen mode and I updated to windows 8.1 and manually updated my drivers. For AMD gamers I am using version 14.2 drivers so possibly rolling them back would be a good idea? I also had some issues where I was forced to change from 60 to 30hz on my monitor, though it appears I am running 60hz now. I'm entirely not sure what or why any of this worked for me, but it did.

Just kidding, after restarting my computer it no longer works again. I cant help but to wonder though if running it at 30hz worked. Unfortunately I cannot change my display settings to that now. 😕mileysad: whyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Alright after trying everything else I finally did a full uninstall of the sims 4 and origin and did a complete reinstall (downloaded instead of from the cd this time) it seems to potentially be working *fingers crossed*
