Sims 4 black screen when selecting anything in build/buy

Everytime I select anything in build/buy the screen goes black. If I tab to the desktop and then back the screen will be back but anytime I click anything including options or switching to live mode ...

Changing the resolution to 1600x1024 worked for me. It went black once I clicked anything, but alt tabbing out and then back into the game fixed it. I was then able to switch back to 1080p and continue working in buy/build mode. So I guess for now, this will work.
