So i dont know if anybody has found an ACTUAL fix for this. but up until now my GF have had this same problem with her Sim4. so i looked into and as somebody else already stated, (can't remember the name, im not use to forums) the fix lies with Origin game client and not the actual game, at least it did for us. search for Origin in your start menu -> right click -> choose file location -> In the folder that opened right click the origin icon (NOT the uninstaller, Just the Plain Origin) and choose properties, now this is where you want to set the compability back to a stage where you know it worked, for me it was Windows 7. after that i have not had the problem. Might worth mentioning that i currently Run Win10 and My graphic card is a Nvidia geforce. the same is as default set to run origin (in the origin game client) in the as part of the game when you boot it up which probably is where the fault is lying.
