Sims 4 black screen when selecting anything in build/buy

Everytime I select anything in build/buy the screen goes black. If I tab to the desktop and then back the screen will be back but anytime I click anything including options or switching to live mode ...

Do you have a black screen in build/buy mode (as this thread is about) or a general not loading issue ?

Sorry, when I first typed "Been having this problem since...." I was referring the "This" to the topic of the post. I guess I should have made that more clear.

      Did that  with no change.  I had uninstalled the game and I was talking about the VC++ because I can't reinstall the game because of the VC++ error.  I have gone to the VC 2010 and 2013 files within the game and tried doing the repairs and that doesn't help.  I just installed the Sims 3 and ALL the packs and that runs great.  I want to try just installing the base sims 4 but I'm not sure how to do that.

        So we need to solve the C++ error now first cause you can't reinstall you don't have Sims 4 installed currently ?
