Forum Discussion
@NerdofFantasies @janeinajumpsuit I have moved your threads into this main one on the The Sims 4 forums.
Heya everyone,
Thank you all for reporting this, we are looking into this currently. We will update you as soon as we can.
In the meantime, you might have success trying the workarounds mentioned before by NewAwakening93 over here and confirmed by yic17 over here.
In both cases, you are trying to switch the resolution for the client (first using Alt+Tab and then adjusting the graphic settings in the menu) , because you appear to run into difficulties with the resolution settings, for example with two monitors being connected.
Another thing to try would be to exit the game completely and then trying to start it in windowed mode. This should allow you to then access the resolution settings and allow you to choose a lower one that your monitors definitely will support.
You can start windowed mode by following this guide from EA_David.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
Nils
I didn't have this problems until Windows decided to force/trick me into updating to Windows 10. Was just in testing Sims 4 and it seemed to work then went into build mode and the blackness happened. Not just to this program, but everything. Nothing would show, no other window or program had any light, just blackness. I tried the windowed mode fix and at first glance it seems to work. It is currently working. I hope it stays that way. I can live with windowed mode.

Make sure all your drivers are updated with Win 10.
You might need have to reinstall Win 10 (instead of just upgrading) if you have the issue with all your programs
