Sims 4 Camera and Audio Changes Reverting to Default When Game is Reopened

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.62.67.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Every Expansion Pack, Game Pack, and Stuff Pack. With the Sims 4 being the Digital Deluxe version from Origin.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not entirely sure if others are having it, but I've found that I know as soon as I see the spinning Plumbob with the tips displayed underneath it. With this loading screen the music is playing even after I turn it off and click the 'apply changes' button in the options. Also, I can tell that the camera is reverted from the Sims 3 camera (the one I prefer) and back to the default one as soon as my save file loads up.
What happens when the bug occurs? The camera is the default camera settings, and the music is loud even though I have tried to turn it down several times.
What do you expect to see? Music settings should be at the same level that I've changed them before I save and exit the game, along with the game camera staying with the preference that i want.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I do not have the means to show you that the game changes the settings when I save and exit and reopen the game. Though, I have no mods installed on the computer and I have ran a few different repairs and a complete uninstall and reinstall for the game entirely. This is a fairly new bug and one that I have only had for the last week or so, since my entire PC has been rebuilt. So, a new motherboard, graphics card, processor, ram and hard drive. I do not know entirely if this is causing the issue no not.

  • @AnneCantGame Try trashing the options.ini file found in your documents folder, then reset everything and save again,

Then check if it now saves.
  • This did fix the problem, but I still want to see what the Gurus think caused the problem in the first place. Thank you!

@AnneCantGame This is pretty common issue. It' been happening since the game came out.

Something is corrupted about the option.ini. They should be aware but it's pretty hard to duplicate.

Did you delete the corrupted file ?

  • I did delete the file that was giving the problem. I loaded the game and changed the settings around, closed out after saving and it was fixed. I've been having no luck with trying to fix it, and always had a hunch that it was some sort of file issue. I just never had the... ambition to try and find it. This has been driving me crazy for a week now.

    Glad to hear it's fixed @AnneCantGame !

If it happens again, please, let us know.  This sounds like some kind of a glitch or corruption of the information in the options.ini file. There are many different things that need to work jointly for everything to run smoothly in the game and on your computer, and sometimes one-off unexpected glitches happen, which can have all kind of unexpected consequences.

    • Hello, having the same problem. But I don't have an options.ini folder. Any other suggestions?

    @Adelaide2017 It's not a folder. It's a file.

Maybe it's just called options if you have extensions hidden.

This could also be caused by your security software blocking the file.
