Sims 4 cats and Dogs issue

Just downloaded Sims cats n dogs but my Sims cant interact with all the commands......cant pick pet up etc     the command just disappears........and cant control pet on its own very annoying

If you have any Mods or CC please remove it and try without.

Edit:

Also the pets are not controllable. You need to tell your simmers to interact with it.

I am having the same issue as the original poster, both with and without mods and CC.
