Sims 4 cheat not working

So in sims 4 it won’t let me use any of the hacks. I used all of the ones people have told me to use and it still does not work. I have tried “test cheats on” and it still did not work. I can’t get any money  and I can’t use any hackers. I’m also not in build mode. Can someone help?

    I am having problems as well and can't even bring up the text box (ctrl+shift+c, etc).  I can't shift click the mailbox for anything, or shift click the sim.  (I've been playing for about 8 months now, never had this issue, used lots of cheats so I know what they are).

    Go to Documents/ElectronicArts - inside will be The Sims4 folder
    Step 1. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
    Step 2. Fix the game in Origin
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
    You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
    Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
    Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder. Start a new game with a random sim and play for 10 minutes. Save and check if this problem disappeared in the new game
    If yes
    Step 5. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves" and Tray.
    Step 6. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
    Step. 7, Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
    Step 8. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
    Step 9. If you don't use mods - skip this step.
    Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.
    Then copy and paste your mods and CC from old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
    Step. 10. If all is OK - delete The Sims4 old folder.

    Hi @CathieCMR & @sims4hqks 

    Some cheats have been disabled a while ago by EA, if the prior doesn't help you entirely, and you're not opposed to a few mods for the game, you can search for Twisted Mexi sims Mod for 'all cheats', as it will get them back for you.

    So far I believe the steps above are working.  I just need to get through the rest of it.  

    Editing about an hour later or so: After going through the steps above, I THOUGHT it was okay.  I've been playing for a little while, no issues, been able to save, cheats have worked, etc.  Then suddenly I wasn't able to even access his inventory, can't save, etc.  It's definitely some kind of bug.

    Hi @CathieCMR  Glad to hear it's partly working then with Kreatora's ideas, just a quote from the modder I mentioned from his 'all cheats' mod page:

    You have 4 classifications of cheats:

    Live
    Cheat
    Automation
    Debug

    Pre-seasons, Cheat and Automation were considered the same, and if you turned on testingcheats both types of cheats were enabled. Automation cheats were not meant for the public and many of those are the ones I released. Personally I think the amount of cheats would have been severely lacking had Automation cheats not been enabled by accident.

    Post-seasons, Automation cheats are now blocked unless the game is truly in an automation mode (something devs have access to for testing)

    I don't believe that this was accidental as post-cats-and-dogs patch, the reason the "toggle_selectable_pets" cheat didn't work was because they had classified it as a new type "ReallyAutomation". This prevented it from being enabled with the rest of the cheat/automation type cheats.

    As of seasons, the "ReallyAutomation" type is gone, and the toggle_selectable_pets cheat was changed to Automation. This implies they knew Automation cheats would now be blocked. The change equates to one line of code and is so straight forward I don't see how it could be a "bug".

    I'm really hoping the guru's reconsider and re-enable all of the automation cheats. They're essential for many of the play styles simmers have out there.

    There is also an older bug with inventories. Not sure, as haven't come across any problems with cheats ingame.

    I'm sure Kreatora will sort you guys out (I just add a bit here and there if it seems pertinent) but generally speaking, he's sorting things out and had started the answers.

    Have you put your mods back into the game after the patch?
    Because it looks like a bug related to outdated mods.
    If yes
    Move the mods folder to the desktop.
    Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game - important!
    Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if a game is working now without mods and CC.
    Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
    Then once more copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder and test it in the game

    @kreatora I did, but at first after the repair, everything seemed to be running just fine. I'm going to try to run it without my mods this morning, for a bit, and see what happens. I updated what I could of my mods so far, but not all are out with an update yet. I will post back when I have results.

    @kreatora WW had another update (2 within 24 hours), and once I updated that again, I didn't seem to get the problem anymore. I still have Sacrificial mods buried and not in use. I'll be adding them back to see if any of them cause a problem next.
