Sims 4 Code Redeemed?

I have purchased SIMS 4 on Amazon but when I type in the product code on origin to redeem it the error message comes up that the code has already been redeemed. I purchased it in mid-December and only just tried to redeem now as it is a Christmas gift but I certainly haven't tried to redeem it before. Any ideas?

first try to contact Amazon support. If they can't help you, you need to contact EA support.

Did you buy the key from the Marketplace or normal Amazon ?
