Sims 4 crashes after last update when a character dies.

Hi, so ever since the last update (basements/easter) my game has been crashing any time a sim dies in my household. I did not have this issue before, and I've had quite a few die before this happened (all, including the ones that have been causing my game to crash, have been from old age.)

The first time this happened, my sim died like normal, but after the grim reaper showed up, I was unable to select which individual sim I wanted to play and lost the ability to make them do any actions. Most of my sims froze in place, but some continued their actions without any progress. The sims that were washing their hands would continue for the next in game hour, the ones grilling would continue smelling it every now and then, and so on and so forth. So I basically lost control of my sims, they stopped being able to do stuff, and time continued to pass while my sim was dying until the game eventually white screened and my computer told me that the sims 4 had stopped working.

I was able to fix that situation with repairing the game through origin and deleting my cache, but the second time this has been unsuccessful. I have tried playing through multiple times after deleting the cache, or repairing the game, and nothing has been working. I've restarted my computer as well.

I am not running any mods or CC and am using Windows 7. This glitch has effectively kept me from being able to play at all since the update and I would appreciate any help fixing this.
