sims 4 crashes after october 2019 update

Sorry this is the first time posting so I'm not sure if I've posted in the right place.

I checked the known issue and also searched before posting.

I only have the base game, have quite a new laptop and still have plenty of storage and RAM.

After downloading the latest update 03/10/19 (or 10/03/2019 US) my TS4 constantly crashes with the 'not responding' error.

Innitially I thought this was because I was placing builds from the gallery, but last night I was building and while in build mode and hovering over an item I'd not seen before (a planter box or something) it did it again.  It has also done this after a build has been placed, whhile placing a build, and after starting up with a build already saved to the lot, and I was once again ameding the build.

I tried removing the builds that it was crashing on from my gallery, but that didn't work, so I tried deleting the cache, that didn't work, so I saw in the forum that you can drag the sims folder onto your desktop and then try starting in origin and it creates a new folder, and that didn't work either - as soon as I conneted to the gallery, it crashed.

As far as I'm aware I don't have MSI/the other river thingy that I have seen posted quite a bit, but maybe I do and I'm not aware of it - not sure how to check this.

It looks like I'm the only one having this issue so yeah, not sure what's happening, as I've never had this issue before the most recent update.

Appreciate anyone's help.

Thanks!

JP

Thanks so much @puzzlezaddict for helping and sorry for my delayed response.

I have extracted the dxdiag however the page that is linked, when I log in to attach the file as instructed it said that I did't have a case ID, so I clicked the 'contact EA' button and followed the prompts and am now awaiting a live chat.

I'll post the resolution here in case anyone else has this issue.

    Cheers!!

@Jpopper07  You can attach the dxdiag to a post in this thread.  Above the Preview and Submit buttons, there should be a smaller Browse button next to a paper clip; click on it and navigate to your dxdiag.  That way I and the other helpers here can look it over—we don't have access to the information in your EA help case.
