Sims 4 crashes immediately after launching

-Repaired without mods,
-Uninstalled, cleaned custom folders,
-Restarted Windows,
-Downloaded and reinstalled the game via Steam,
-Two CPU-related BIOS settings are already disabled for smoother play,
-Even unplugged my monitor and tested on the laptop only since the Samsung Odyssey G7 is known to cause gaming issues sometimes,
-Sims 4 still crashes. (Note: At first, the game was very slow before it started crashing.)

I use Windows 11 Home. Thank you.

  • K1w1x1  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know when exactly the game is crashing at the moment, for example on the first loading screen or after you select a save to load.  I'll probably move your posts to PC tech for system-related troubleshooting, as that's what helps with most crash-related issues.

It is attached, thank you. It crashes about three seconds after I click the game icon on the desktop or the play button in Steam. The game screen opens but I can’t even get it to start.

Edit: I don’t know how but my game suddenly started working.. 🤷

  • K1w1x1  I've split your posts into their own thread in PC tech since this sounds very much like a tech issue.  Out of curiosity, was this as simple as doing a proper restart of your computer?

If this happens again, try playing with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If that helps, you can try keeping your computer online but leaving the App in offline mode.

If it doesn't help, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  You'll be able to launch the game without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other content won't be available.
