Sims 4 Crashing since Origin Update

Can someone please post a simple, step-by-step solution to resolve the Sims 4 crashing error since the Origin update? I'm experiencing the same issue as several other users where I try to play a hous...

    @UNCCMALE  I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech section.  (Tagging @EmmaJohnsie and @kaykay14268  for awareness.)

    Please move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will be created with no content.  If it runs normally, as in, you can play a household, save it, quit, reload, and play that same household, the issue is likely one or more broken mods or cc items.

    You'll need to sort through those files manually to figure out which ones are incompatible with the latest patch; you can test them in batches in your clean game folder.  There's a cc shelf that's a common culprit (I think it's the OSMP shelf); otherwise, this thread may be helpful, although it may not be a complete list:
