Sims 4 DLC stuck on preparing

I bought the sims 4 vampire pack last night at around 9:30pm but it is still “preparing” and has not downloaded. It’s been about 18 hours

    Hi @priimadonnaxo @1Sopy @Txbs_xo & @isabel6847 

    Please try the following steps to clear this up:

    • Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
    • Clear the cache for the EA app
    • Run the EA app as an administrator 
    • Check for any background applications blocking the EA App
    • Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:
      • Close the EA app
      • Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field
      • In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available
      • Click Okay the bottom of the window
      • Open the EA app client and try starting the download again

    If these steps don't help, please run an EA Error Report following the steps here and be sure to attach your Report ID into this thread so we can investigate further.

    I originally purchased The Sims 4 from Steam. I have played this game before and wanted to reinstall it on my new laptop. Steam got the download started, but then it got stuck downloading the DLC expansions I had purchased in the past. After a little investigation, I noticed that EA was trying to download my DLCs, and it was stuck at the Dine Out DLC, and it just said "Preparing". I have already cleared the download cache and even tried downloading from a different region, but to no avail. I contacted Steam support, but they said it was an EA problem because this was happening within the EA app (please see file snapshot attachment), not the Steam client.

    I am unable to reinstall The Sims 4. Can anyone please tell me how to proceed?

    Home Chef Hustle is stuck in "preparing" for download. I cannot pause it, or cancel the download. Game is unplayable until this is resolved.
