Sims 4 expansion not

HI, I have purchased the Sims 4 Growing Together expansion pack on PC, I have installed it and it is showing in my EA app as 'installed' - despite this when I select the world it displays an error message 'Whoops, something went wrong, please try again later' and will not open. For trouble shooting thus far, I have restarted the EA app and run 'repairs' on the Sims 4 icon in the EA app. neither of these have worked and I found an online guide which said it is a known issue - they recommended uninstalling and reinstalling the app, however I am nervous about losing my progress on my games if I do this? Has anyone else had this specific issue and know how to fix it please? If not, does anyone know if I do the uninstall/reinstall will I lose my data?

I have also tried telephoning EA directly and I get a msg that says the service is unavailable at the moment and to come online for support.
Thank you everyone

  • @aussieamy53  If you have the CAS Demo installed, please see this thread:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/EA-App-claims-packs-are-installed-yet-they-are-not/td-p/12126024

Otherwise, please run a search for EP13 , which is the folder for Growing Together.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter EP13 in the search field in the upper-right corner.  Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result.  If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary.  Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here.

To answer your question, if you uninstall and reinstall the EA App, it won't affect what games you own.  The only reason people ever lose access to their games is if they accidentally sign into the wrong account, and then it's just a matter of finding the correct one.  The App should detect that your games are already installed too, but there's always a chance that part of the process doesn't work correctly.
