@abc1631824435 What box were you trying to uncheck, and what was the error message? Please post a screenshot.
Please also let me know whether there are any other files in Documents that you absolutely need to have synced with OneDrive. A simple workaround would be to deselect Documents in its entirety, and manually upload what you want to OneDrive to have, but that might not be the most convenient approach for you.
There are several workarounds here; I just want to know your setup so I can make the most appropriate suggestion.
Hello 🙂
Thanks for replying, really appreciate it. Screen shot attached.
I only have a few word documents, my CV etc, not a heavy user of my personal laptop just occasional gaming. None of it needs to be synced to OneDrive but I can't edit things unless it's uploaded into OneDrive as I don't have an Office licence.
Happy to manually pick and choose and upload to OneDrive myself 🙂
Thanks!

@abc1631824435 There are two easy approaches here. One is to deselect only the Electronic Arts folder. Expand the Documents section in your screenshot (click the › next to it), and you should be able to uncheck Electronic Arts, or The Sims 4 inside that. Your other documents will sync, just not your Sims data. Or you can stop Documents from syncing entirely, as described here:
It's a different process than what you're trying to do, necessarily because the current location of the Documents directory is inside the OneDrive folder and Windows needs to move it for this setting to work. Exempting only a subfolder, e.g. Electronic Arts, is simpler and can be done in the menu you've found.
If you do decide to stop Documents from syncing, you can manually upload files to onedrive.com. Or you can put the files you want synced on your desktop, if you leave syncing enabled for the desktop. In that case, if anyone later tells you to move the Sims 4 folder to the desktop for troubleshooting purposes, which is a common suggestion, just rename the folder instead. Both accomplish the same thing, which is to keep the game from loading your existing user data while you try to fix a problem.
