@bethjohnston73 Try removing the UI cheats mod, if you have it. If not, or if it doesn't help, remove your Mods folder, delete localthumbcache.package, and test. You don't have to save your progress, so don't worry about any warnings of missing items; this is just to see whether it helps.
HI I need help with the game.
It does not want to start since I updated it this morning (based in South Africa). It says "unable to start" I have to repair it or uninstall it. so the problem is I cant uninstall it so I want to know how to at least repair it. I am using pc and only have base game. I know you do not work for the sims but please help. Am still a newbie and I do not even know who to contact :-(

so, unsure if you have mods, but...script mods (like MCCC and the specialized careers, etc) are not working right now. You can update MCCC, but the others have to be taken out until they are updated.
I know some people don't have such things, but as a PC user, it took me a few days to sort through the mods I have, make sure what was crashing my game...this is the result I found: custom careers/QOL items (i'm bummed, I liked the bank one, made it so bills would autopay for me)
