Sims 4 frozen after getting rid of onedrive

I unlinked my laptop from onedrive, i made sure to have a copy of my EA folder, i followed every tip and tutorial, i’ve repaired my game, moved the folder to desktop and ran a new game, transferred only mods, tray and saves and my game will not move past the home screen, won’t let me open anything else and the only way out is to ctrl alt del and sign out and back into my laptop. i have so many hours logged and multiple saves i have spent so much time on and i’m at the end of my patience,,,please any help?

  • @4757889  Please test without the Mods folder, just to be thorough.

If the game still freezes, please confirm that the Documents directory has been moved out of OneDrive.  Search in Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:

reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"

This will return the location of Documents as Windows sees it.  The result should be C:\Users\your username\Documents, with nothing else in the path.  If you get a different result, please let me know what it says.

If Documents is in the correct location and Sims 4 won't open with your Mods folder removed, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
