Sims 4 game glitching and freezes that I have to force restart

I’m having an issue where I need to save my game every 5 mins in fear that I might have to restart the game without saving. Whenever I click on the fridge to order food or click to cook or even click on my sims phone to use the social bunny my whole screen freezes and it does not unfreeze. I waited an hour because I had fear of losing the gameplay progress. That I had to restart my whole laptop. I never had this issue before until now.

    @Boeybehrs  Please try playing in windowed mode and let me know whether you can use the rest of the computer, i.e. whether Sims 4 freezes itself or also freezes the entire system.  When testing, please make sure nothing else is running in the background, other than the EA App of course.  You can check the Task Manager for apps that might have started with Windows and kill them from there.
