Sims 4 game keeps crashing

Sims 4 keeps crashing after I played for 1 minute. The game freezes for 1-2 seconds and then crashes. I have repaired the game, cleared the cache, and removed the Sims 4 folder before launching. reinstalled Sims but it still doesn't work. I have removed mods and cc as well and tried changing the display and resolution settings as well. But it still doesn't help. And it's really stressing me out. I have done a DxDiag and am attaching it to the post as well. Kindly please if anyone knows a fix let me know. Thank you in advance.

  • @aabhirami  Your new dxdiag shows more AMD graphics driver errors, and you also have the same driver installed as before.  That's not surprising—laptop manufacturers don't always update their drivers at a reasonable pace—but it means the driver itself may not be compatible with Sims 4.  So try the newest AMD driver instead:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-5500-series/amd-radeon-rx-5500-series/amd-radeon-rx-5500m

You want the "AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition" driver dated November 2.  Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart after installing and before trying to play.

If you get an error when trying to install the driver, let me know.  Some laptop manufacturers block the installation of any drivers they don't provide themselves, and I have no idea whether that will be the case here.

  • @aabhirami  Thanks for the dxdiag, which makes the issue clear: the AMD graphics driver is crashing and taking Sims 4 down with it.  The fix is to clean-uninstall the driver and reinstall it.  Here's how:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

The same driver covers both the integrated graphics chip and the dedicated card, so you only have one driver to remove and reinstall.  To find it, please go here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter your laptop's serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if prompted, and you'll land on the driver download page for HP.  Don't click the button to look for updates.  Instead, click All Drivers, then Driver-Graphics, and find the newest-available driver by release date.  Download that, then go through the clean-uninstall process.

When you've reinstalled the driver, test Sims 4 and let me know how it goes.

Hi! Thank you so much for trying to help! I followed the instructions but I'm still unable to resolve it. The game opens but it gets frozen in the game screen. I kee only restarting the system again to get out of the frozen screen. I am attaching the dxdiag for your reference. Thank you!
