Sims 4 game menu freeze

I recently bought a new laptop and after installing all my sims 4 content onto my new computer and opened up the sims 4 it opens fine and a menu pops up about ui scaling and I've tried the three options listed ,  keep settings ,  Turn off Auto-Scaling(Recommended) and the X in the top all three options freeze my game and I cant do anything else? I've included a second screenshot of me clicking keep current settings and the menu stays and I cant click anything else game is full screened because I cant get to my options menu and have to restart my laptop to close the sims 4 . Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

  • Took out my mods folder , it started up and I have fixed my problem , apparently scrip mods were still enabled so I had a outdated one and it was causing the freeze.

  • @Pokemoe25 Could you try moving the options file (found in documents) to the desktop and try loading again ?

Also what security software does your laptop have ?
  • I placed my options file from my documents folder in my desktop and am reloading my sims 4 game , I have avg

@crinrict If the ui scaling menu pops up again which option should I select , I never got this message on my old laptop but its started prompting on my new laptop and the menu seems to be why my game is freezing. ☹️

  • @crinrict Alright I've followed the directions beat I could my avg is set up differently than the pictures you listed, the sims 4 was allowed app already and I add my sims 4 from my desktop to the list for the second option, opening my game now, still unsure what open I should select from the ui scaling menu that pops up.

    Best** Option**

Still getting UI message and when I make a selection it freezes .

Turned my graphics down now it loads right not all stretched but gets to the menu with the spinning plumbob it spins once then disappears and my game freezes there ? What can I do!!!???

@Pokemoe25 Did you move over any of the old user files from your old computer or is this a fresh folder ?
  • @crinrict All I placed was my tray and mod files and my saved games , I know it's not mods b.c I havent got into my options menu to turn on mods so they are disabled atm

@Pokemoe25 Glad you found the issue.

If you have issues, it's always best to test on a fresh folder first. You never know what causes a conflict :D
