Sims 4 gameplay using touchpad

Hello,

If you are referring to The Sims 3 camera controls, then The Sims 4 has two different camera modes which can be set in the options, one of which is using the camera controls from The Sims 3. However, I've always found that playing The Sims series is much easier and much more fun when used with a USB mouse - often these aren't too expensive to buy, or you can get a wireless one for mobility.

I understand that there were aspects of The Sims 3 which you thought were better that have not been reused in The Sims 4, however please remember it is a different game, so the way it is played is most likely to have changed slightly.

I have no ability to use a mouse with my laptop.  I sit with my laptop in my lap on my couch.  My apartment is not big enough to have a table in it.  So sitting on a couch trying to use a mouse with a laptop doesn't work for me.  I figured out how to view from the top down into the rooms, which is helpful.  I also figured out how to rotate the property so I can look at all areas of the rooms.  I just can't zoom out and view from a bit of a distance as you can in Sims3.

There's a slider button that you can use to zoom in and out in the top right. Maybe it's activated with the camera. At this moment I can't be positive. I use the camera option on sims 4 that came with the game. Never played Sims 3 so I don't miss what I didn't have, I guess. I play this game on a surface pro and I can zoom in and out on it (with or without the mouse.) So you might try looking again for it @stillie418 .

no that's just the regular - button (the one that if you hold shift at the same time becomes underscore )

Thanks you have been very helpful.  I played the Sims4 game for about 3 hours straight and slowly getting better at moving around.

yeah i was the same even with mouse/keybord took a while to get used to the new way to control/move :D

If you have a touchpad (mouse pad thing) like me, you can use two fingers to zoom in and out by gently pulling your fingers together like your trying to grasp something, like zooming in on an Iphone if you have one. Can you tell me how you learnt how to view the properly and view it from top down? still trying!
