sims 4: how do i change to fullscreen through the options file?

i recently changed to windowed mode and my game doesnt work (turns into a tiny square and will not expand) and i need to change it back to fullscreen, but i obviously cant use the in game options, so how do i wither go back to fullscreen or have windowed mode run normally?

thanks!

  • Hi @sollosims

if you added -w to your command line in Origin, you'll need to revert that.

If not, here's you need to set in the options.ini file

    • Fullscreen: fullscreen = 1, windowedfullscreen = 0
    • Windowed-Fullscreen: fullscreen = 1, windowedfullscreen = 1
    • Window: fullscreen = 0, windowedfullscreen = 0

  • Hi I had this problem, but changing the options.ini file didn’t make the game go into fullscreen mode

@Gandellion It should also work if you put -f in the command line. Trashing the options.ini should usually also revert to fullscreen

  • Thanks for the info, I was able to get into game and change it via the in-game options menu but nothing else seemed to work!
