Sims 4, How to back up expansion/stuff Pks.

I brought a digital copy of the Sims 4 Bundle pack 1, but cant find the files for it inorder to pack it up incase of computer crash or upgrading computer etc.
How do I go about locating the expansion & stuff/bundle pack game files inorder to back up?

Thanks.

  • As long as you turn of automatic updates in Origin (in my experience having them on has undesired sideeffects), you should be able to just download the expansions you want.

Any save games saved with content from packs not installed potentially lead to issues though (for example, having saved the game in Granite Falls and then uninstalling it, might corrupt the save for goo)

The user files are all the same so you can just back that up. The game files don't really need backing up unless your on bad Internet and redownloading is a problem.

  • If you click on i on the base game in Origin, you should find all the games there.

You can just reinstall from there.

On your hard drive they are in subfolders called EP/SP/GP within the Sims folder.

@Kephear Also, the default Windows location for the files will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games, but if you have them installed to a non-standard location you can check in Origin.

Click "Origin" in the top left, then Application Settings. Under the advanced tab it'll show your current game install location.

If you want to make backups of your saves and such, these are located at My Documents/The Sims 4.

    Cheers.

Hi, So basically, if I understand yourself & @crinrict correctly, I cant back up expansion or stuff packs indivudually from the main game- They'll just be a part of the main Sims 4 back up file (obviously backing up after each new expansion or stuff/bundle install), correct?
In the event of needing to reinstall Sims 4, will the expansions, stuff/bundle packs automatically reinstall along with it, or will I have the option to install them or not as I wish?
Sorry for all the questions- I brought a hard copy of Sims 4 & digital copy of the bundle pack for my 1st ever digital copy of a game, so I'm a noob with digital game files 😛

Yeah, Internet can be pretty bad out at the farm- fine for basic use, but not DL massive files 😉
Thank you very much for you help 🙂
