Sims 4 installation is very slow

I was given sims 4 as a present, unfortunately i have a new mac and no disc drive to install it on. I downloaded oigin and downloaded the game. However its taken almost 3 hours to install 3% of the game!!!!!!!

This is very irritating. Does anyone know how to speed up the process.

i have restarted the down load 4 times and the rate isnt changing.

 according to origin download will be complete in 38 hours.

seeing people are having the same problem

FIX IT PLEASE. 

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO WAIT THIS LONG TO DOWN LOAD A GAME

    When the download is slow it's usually because of a slow internet connection. Only thing you could try then is pausing a resuming the download to see if the speed picks up.

    I don't understand! I don't have the option to pause/cancel it. Therefore i have to restart my laptop to stop it.

    If you hover over the game as its downloading a hp bar will pop up
