sims 4 installed twice
there are two full sims games downloaded on my computer. I noticed this when an extra shortcut kept popping up on my desktop, always coming back no matter how many times i tried deleting it. I thin...
@Erythina By default, these would be the two locations for the game's installed files:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4
Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4
So you'd want to remove the second and leave the first, that is if you're doing it manually. But that might not be the easiest way. Can you simply tell Origin to uninstall Sims 4? You should have two game tiles in your library, one with the Steam logo and one without. If you right-click on the one that does NOT have the Steam logo and select Uninstall, Origin should remove the second install without touching the one within Steam.
As far as your saves and other user data are concerned, everything is stored in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. It's a good idea to back this up before doing anything else, and to back it up periodically anyway, just in case. An external drive would be best, but you could also use a free filehosting service (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) if you want.
