Sims 4 keeps crashes when I try to start a new save or see my dlc
So I had an issue with the sims 4 not starting because of my graphics card and with not opening but instead starting in the background and I fix both those errors, but now when I start the game and it gets me to the main menu it crashes when I try to start a new save or when I to open up the dlc panels it crashes. I've done everything from reinstalling both sims and ea, removing mods/cc/gshade, creating a new sims 4 folder through the game, uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics card while also updating it, turning off overlay for ea and playing in offline mode, but it keeps crashing and I don't know what's wrong. please help. here's my dxdiag file if that helps.
@nickydominates Have you specifically removed GShade and then uninstalled and reinstalled Sims 4? If not, please try it now, and install the game into a new folder, one you create for just this purpose, while you're at it.
Your dxdiag shows Sims 4 is crashing due to a problem with a component of the Intel graphics driver, but that component deals with the Vulkan API, which Sims 4 doesn't use. So it would be strange for this component to be involved at all while you're playing Sims 4 unless you've modified the game or its graphics effects in some way. If you have, it's important to reverse all the changes you've made so you're running the game in the most vanilla state possible.
If none of this helps, please do a clean uninstall of the graphics driver, as described here:
and use this slightly older driver instead of the newest one available:
It might be too old to work properly, but then you can just update it again. You're at least the second person I've seen post-patch with a crashing Intel graphics driver, and if the problem is the current driver itself, an older one might work fine.
