Sims 4 Keeps Crashing in Game Since Most Recent Update

Since the last update where the holiday challenge was installed, my game has been crashing in game without any error codes. I have no CC Installed.

I tried all of the following:

Checked to make sure my computer met all systems requirements, including recommended drives

Cleared the cache in my Sims 4 folder

Restarted and cleared the cache in EA App

Uninstalled the EA App and reinstalled it

Tried repairing Sims 4 in the EA App

Uninstalled and reinstalled Sims 4

Jumped through 1000 hoops to chat with EA for them to tell me to come here

Cried on the inside

Prayed to all gods old and new

Anyone else?

  • BrittanyGuerra  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If this doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Thank you trying that now. It is insane there isn’t any real support from EA.

  • BrittanyGuerra  Please force Sims 4 to run in DirectX 11 mode.  Open the EA App, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and enter -dx11 in the command line box.

EA does have official support, just not (much) on this site, which is meant to be a player-help-player forum, in addition to chat and other casual interactions.  If you'd like to contact EA customer support, you can do so here:

    https://help.ea.com/en/

It's better for some problems than others though, for example it generally seems to do better with missing purchases or other account issues than with game crashes.

Yeah I did reach out to the support and they sent me here. Makes sense why pay people to help players when you can have them help one another for free. I appreciate your help I’ll try this fix
