Please don't apologize! Thank you so much for the help.
I cannot remember the exact temperatures of my GPU and CPU, but I remember checking them through Afterburner as I opened the game, and trying to put the fans at a higher speed as well as keeping my computer a little bit more open. It did not make a difference. It could be that it is overheating, but it would seem odd that it works fine with other fairly intensive games (and that it worked fine for years before)
I also did a deep clean of the inside.
Furthermore, I have on multiple occasions found that the "nvlddmkm EVENT ID 14" happened at the same time as the crashes in the Event Viewer. I've read that people have had computer freezes due to it, but I have not found anything related to the Sims 4...
@Karoudraws While I don't know exactly what that error means, "nvlddmkm" is part of the Nvidia graphics driver, so I'd definitely suggest doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver. First though, please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files, in case there's anything that needs to be cleaned up.
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.

I thought so. I've already tried the clean resinstall of the driver, as well as a complete factory reset of the computer...
The /Restorehealth was completed successfully, as did the other scan : "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
