Sims 4 keeps crashing on pc

The Sims 4 keeps crashing to the desktop. I have removed all mods, updated Windows, carried out a repair via Origin and I have removed the EA folder and played the game so a new folder was made.

I have run a DxDiag which is attached. PLEASE can someone help??

Thank you in advance!

@lizzie221188 i don't think installing Windows 11 will the problem. It looks like MS Visual c++ got damaged or deleted. I would try to download the vcredist from Microsoft and installing it. Are you sure all the fans are running? The computer could be over heating. Did this game ever run correctly or did it always crash?

  • @roberta591 I downloaded the vcredist from Microsoft but couldn't install it as it came up with an error saying it was already installed. How do I delete it so I can reinstall it or repair it?

Yes fans are all working, it's liquid cooled.

Yes it ran properly for a while, can't remember how long though as having the game crashing has gone on for so long. I think it might be since the computer was updated to Windows 10 that it's been crashing

@lizzie221188 You may have some support programs that didn't update with Win 10. You can uninstall MS visual c++ in - control panel - programs and features. You only have to unintall the version your trying to install.

  • @roberta591 I uninstalled the most recent version of MS visual c++ and installed it again. I played the Sims and it crashed twice

When its not the game files or updates its usually the operating system. With all this tampering its very likely the files the game needs are broken. I once had to reinstall my operating system because origin corrupted windows files beyond repair.

If you feel up for it, backup your files (usb drive or seperate harddrive disk), format your operating system drive and do a clean reinstall of your operating system. When the game wont run properly with a new system, up to date hardware drivers then it probably a piece of hardware.
