Sims 4 Keeps Crashing
Hello all, I am hoping someone can help me. My Sims 4 game keeps crashing. Usually this is after about 2 minutes of gameplay, but sometimes happens sooner. There is no common denominator that I can...
Hey! I seem to be having this problem also. I do play with mods and i updated them all and i still cant seem to find why my game keeps crashing. I havent been able to play since it crashes as soon as I load. This is what my crash thing says:

My info:
@hc0er56hvli3 Thanks for the info. This type of crash is often related to mods, so please remove all of your mods and custom content and test again. You don't need to save your progress.
If you get another crash, please test a new save, still without mods or cc.
So I did this and found a couple of mods that might be the issue and deleted them. My game was working perfectly fine till a day ago when and I decided to remove a few more mods i didn't need; but now its back to crashing again. Is it still mod related?
@hc0er56hvli3 It may well be mod-related. The only way to find out is to play with no mods or custom content at all. You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.
Hi, I know this is late but I'm also having this issue. I have a bunch of mods and can't bother yet to have to go through all of them and wait, so I was wondering if you were able to help me? I've never had this issue before where my game would just crash and it just happened this month. I removed a lot of mods I don't use and save files I don't use. I just want to know exactly what the issue could be, if its mod related or something else. I checked through event viewer the details of the application error and this is what it said

Not sure if this is any help or if you understand this, but I also have the dxdiag file attached too. If you need anymore information, just let me know. I just want to know what the issue is exactly instead of having to guess by reinstalling my game a bunch of times, thank you.
@lush0713 The error info says Sims 4 (TS4_x64.exe) crashed due to a fault with VCRUNTIME140.dll, which is a component of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, 2015 and newer versions. The problem could be the VC++ runtimes or some resource that uses them, including mods or custom content. So while I understand you don't want to sort through all your mods if it isn't necessary, please do test with no mods or cc at all, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop. If this fixes the crashing, you'll at least know what you need to do.
If you get this same type of crash with the Mods folder removed, please uninstall your current versions of the VC++ runtimes and install fresh copies. Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on any version from 2015 or later, and select Uninstall. Don't touch the older versions. You can download the newest runtimes directly from Microsoft:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
You'll need both the x86 and x64 versions of the 2015-2022 runtimes, but you can skip the ARM version, which is for a different class of device. Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.
Separately, but possibly related, your dxdiag shows that your C drive is almost completely full. 7 GB free is enough for Windows to maneuver, but only barely, and not necessarily while running Sims 4. So please clear at least another 20 GB. Your D and E drives both have plenty of space, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Hi, I tried redownloading the visual c++ since I thought it was strange that out of no where my mods were causing an issue that has never happened to me and the issue still persisted. It is unfortunate but since its not a super big issue for me, I'm holding back looking for the exact issue in my mods folder but I am removing some unnecessary mods instead. Thanks for the help and i did remove some things to get more storage because it is something I had to do regardless of my game lol. I'll have to look up which type of mods usually cause crashing since I removed cas cc that was there when I began to have the issue, it could be build mode cc so I still have yet to remove some of those too.
@lush0713 There's a whole Mods & CC Issues forum here if you want more specific mod-related help:

Hi @puzzlezaddict, could you please take a look on my DxDiag export too? I don't play on Mods or CC, and my Sims crush once I open the game - each time.. I used 'Repair' option from EA app but it didn't help ☹️ would really appreciate your help
@paulniew I don't see any obvious problems in your dxdiag, and no Sims 4 crashes either. Does the game open and load a little bit, then close; or does it fail to open at all? Do you see an error message? If so, please post a screenshot. It's fine if the screenshot is in Polish.
Please also launch the game again, then look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of this most recent attempt to launch Sims 4. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
