Sims 4 keeps getting stuck on the loading screen

Hello,
my Sims 4 game keeps getting stuck on the loading screen after I try to load the CAS or a different world.
This has only been happening since my last 100 hours of play time.

- I have completely deinstalled the game and redownloaded it

- gotten rid of all the mods

- renamed the folder and repaired the game

- tried to play offline

- reset my internet

- reduced my mods

- my pc is able to run the game no problem

- and there is enough disk space too

Does anyone have an Idea as to what could be the problem? or have a solution?

@Death_Angel2221  Please update your computer's graphics driver.  You can get the newest one here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install.  Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

Please let me know what works and what doesn't, still with no mods or custom content.  It's possible that you're seeing multiple issues, for example trying to load a lot using the Off the Grid challenge can cause infinite loading, but that would have no bearing on CAS.

@sovereignsimmer  As noted above, Off the Grid is currently broken.  For anything else, please post in Game Issues since your problem sounds limited to certain households or lots.  When the game works fine some of the time—with certain households or certain saves but not others—it's almost always an in-game issue or bug.

    Thank you for your reply!

I tried to load a new save, and it worked! I also tried to load with a different household in my main save and it also worked. It got stuck on the loading screen when I tried to load with a particular Sim, which confused me... luckily now I now my whole game isn't broken, but I would hate to lose all the progress I've made until now...

I really appreciate your help and I wonder if you know what might be causing the problem with this particular Sim?

Thank you and have a great day

  • Death_Angel2221  Please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you see.  Try again to load this main household, and if and when it hangs on the loading screen, quit the game and look for a new lastexception file.  If you find one, open it and delete the first line of text, then attach the file to a reply here.

If you don't find a new LE, go to Manage Worlds and move your sim to a different lot, then try loading them there.  Try loading the house in Build mode too.

  • frogen45  I can try to help, but please describe your issue, and let me know whether it happens with no mods or custom content present.  The Sims 4 errors in your dxdiag are too generic to be of any help on their own, so context matters.
