Non-Modded install constantly crashing

Sul Sul,

SO, here's my issue(s).... I've been trying to get a non momdded relatively fresh instal (via the ea app) running and it seems to NEVER fail, that my game with crash back to teh launcher, no exceptions reports, etc. There is the last crash reports, which I uploaded to ChatGPT.... no "real" help, but it did have a snippet in there about Category ID and the stack trace.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've recently done a clean fresh install of the Nvidia Drivers, done a full re-move and re-install of TS$ adn this keeps happening.
I've gone into the bios and turned off the Turbo Boost as well - that also didn't fix it.

I'm kinda at my wits end here.... any help?

(I'm sure y'all are swamped with tons of "my modded game doesn't work", so Patience is one of my virtues ;)

Attached is my DXDiag too

  • Fenris4024  Have you confirmed that your BIOS is updated too?  If not, please start there.

And if any component of this system is overclocked, please revert to stock speeds.

If that doesn't help, please unplug all your audio devices—speakers, microphone, whatever—restart your computer, and try again to play.

Some of the crashes in your dxdiag do look like the processor-related issue that's usually fixed by disabling CPU Turbo Boost, but that type of crash does technically have multiple causes, even including bad mods (I know you don't have any; it's just that broad, in theory).  And some other crashes could be related to this or triggered by conflicting software, plus the EA App is crashing too.

as near as I know, all my things are reset back to original clock speeds (no overclocking that I'm aware of (asus board is a little fuzzy on it.... kinda wishing I hadn't bought an unlocked processor, since I've never OC'd it anyhow)

Did try it with Voicemeter off (Program I use while DJing....thats where all the extra gobs of audio devices are from  -still crashed on dx11) - I'm really hesitant to uninstall that one since I DO use it a fair bit.... but maybe....)

Gonna try it in DX9 mode, see if there's any benefit.

Testing that in DX11.... I rolled back my GPU driver a few (like 2, I think?), wondering if the driver wasn't the issue.....

  • Fenris4024  There have been issues with some recent Nvidia drivers, but I believe the ones with the problem were versions 580.xx, not anything newer.  If you were running a newer version and are now on 580.xx, please update again.

Please also let me know which Turbo setting you disabled in BIOS.  A few players have reported having multiple settings, and at least one disabled the "wrong" setting before finding the one that helped.

This error is the one that's usually associated with the CPU issues.  If it makes you feel better though, the problem can happen on any high-end CPU and isn't always a matter of the motherboard overclocking it.  That's the common fix but isn't really the fundamental cause, and the cause applies to some non-K SKUs as well.  It's something of a crapshoot whether any given unit is affected.

@puzzleaddict I'm setting the Intel Adaptive Boost Tech to disabled.... my options are active, auto and disabled.
I've re-updated my Nvidia drivers, as instructed, as well as flashed my bios this evening. Still having the c0000005 exception code errors.

I DID do some sluething and found out that both my M-Audio AIR and the razer services were causing issues on an unmodded save, causing crashes in a clean boot. Once I turned those off (which is problematic on the Audio side of things), it ran no issues for a few hours.

Doing some testing with a modded save with updated mods however results in a crash within about 10-15m.

    Ideas?

  • Fenris4024  It sounds like the mods are the issue then, or at least part of it.  Updated doesn't mean perfectly compatible, and it's possible one of the creators missed a bug in their mod.  If you don't want to play without any mods at all, test the ones you'd like to keep separately or in small groups.

As a side note, 0xc0000005 is the code for an access violation, a type of error too generic to be of any use on its own.  What is sometimes helpful is the faulting module, python37_x64.dll in your previous error report.  This is, as you'd expect, a reference to a component of Python, and while that detail isn't all that illuminating either, we do know that python37_x64 errors are associated with the issue with high-end Intel CPUs, and sometimes with a bad mod, and occasionally with a bad game install.

Sometimes the faulting module makes things easy, for example when it lists a component of the graphics driver or some third-party app.  But it's not always that simple.
