Sims 4 not opening

Hi, I have had this problem for a couple of days now. The app opens to the main menu as usual, but when I click to play, it just stays on the loading screen and won't go anywhere from there. I have removed all of my mods and it still does the same. Is it a bug or can I do something to actually get to play the game.

Hi I have the same issue. Today i played the game but now its not opening.

  • Venluskainen cherrypie00  CAn you load a different household in this same save?  Click Load Game rather than Resume to try.  If not, can you load a new save?

If the new save or the new household works, please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find.  Try again to load your main household, and when it doesn't work, look for a new lastexception.  If you find one, open it and delete the first line of text, then attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

If the new save doesn't work, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a(nother) new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply here.

puzzlezaddictwhen i move sims 4 folder onto my desktop, the game worked fine. By the way, do you mean this txt?

  • cherrypie00  Yes, that's what I mean, but this LE is from a modded game, and the problem looks like it might be mod-related too.  So try loading your main household in this save with no mods or cc present.  If you want, you can copy the save to the new Sims 4 folder so the original remains intact in the old folder while you experiment on the new copy.
