Sims 4 on Windows 10

Can anyone help me get TheSims 4 installed on my Windows 10 based PC?

I feel like I have tried everything.

I have tried installing from the CD's, I have D/L the game from ORIGIN online, I have cleared my orgin cache, I have started the computer in safe mode and removed older versions of vc++ and downloaded latest version, I have updated my graphics drivers.

I still get ERROR VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully.  Setup cannot continue (1612)

    I've done that, still doesn't work.  I downloaded and installed the VC++ 2017 : x64 vc_redist.x64.exe

    I still get the error.

    Tried, that ends up linking you to the previous 2017 file (vc_redst.x64.exe)

    This is the most frustrating think I have ever tried to install.

    They may be named the same but sizes should be different.

    Edit:

    Just checked they are not named the same (but close).

    VC_redist.x64  = 2017

    VCredist_x64  = 2013

    You were right about the file being different.  However I installed the 2013 version, restarted computer, again tried to Install TheSims4 and same VC++ error.

    Are you actually running it with Windows 10?  I'm convinced it will not work.

    @Auty-Dragon  Are you installing both the x86 and the x64 versions. As the x86 may (probably) work under Windows 10 64 bit the game may require the x86 version to run the installer.  The game does run under windows 10.
