Sims 4 perpetually loading in Create A Sim Mode

Whenever I boot up and try to play the game, I hit "play" and go through everything in Create A Sim as usual, but whenever I try and hit the actual "Play" button or upload the household to the galler...

    @DirtyBathtub  Did Sims 4 ever work on this computer?  It's of course possible that you received a defective laptop, but it's also possible that the issue is something about its setup.

    Please try playing while your computer is offline.  You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing play.  Please use a(nother) clean Sims 4 folder when testing.

    If that doesn't help, create a new admin Windows account and try to play in that.  Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use.  The username should contain only letters and numbers, no special characters or accents.

    If that doesn't help either, I'm curious whether the game will load into live mode if you force the use of the integrated graphics chip.  Hit Windows key-i, select System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, and find TS4_64.exe.  Then click on it, choose Options, and select "Power saving," which should list the Intel chip rather than the Nvidia card.  Performance will obviously not be anywhere near what you'd want, but the question is whether it works at all.

    If none of this makes a difference, please post a new dxdiag.

@DirtyBathtub  Your dxdiag shows a couple of errors with your graphics driver, or one of them anyway.  So the place to start is by doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Nvidia graphics driver.  Here's how:

Use the newest driver from MSI for your laptop, dated March 16:

This driver is new enough that it should work fine with both your OS and Sims 4, and it's may be more compatible with your laptop than the newest one from Nvidia.  Restart your computer after installing the driver and before trying to play.

@puzzlezaddict Update; did all that and it still doesn't work, installed the drivers after doing the DDU offline in safe mode :/

      @puzzlezaddict sorry to bother ya again but will I need to boot up the other account whenever I want to play or?

      And if so should I just stick with a barebones account or can I still download/run other stuff on it without affecting the game?

        @DirtyBathtub  You're not bothering me at all.  You have a few different options here.  The first is to keep switching user accounts when you want to play Sims 4, which is of course not convenient.  The second is to try to troubleshoot the issue in your old user account; this could be simple, or it could be complicated and time-consuming, depending on what the cause happens to be.  I can help with that if you'd like, but I do want you to be aware it might not be straightforward, and in a couple of similar cases I was never able to figure out the issue at all.

        The third option is to transfer your other content to the new user account and only use that one going forward.  Since you've only had the computer a week, it might not be too difficult.  For transferring content, open a File Explorer window, click This PC > Users > Public, and drop any files into that so they can be accessed by the new account.  For any services you want to use, or settings you want to change, do so one at a time, and keep testing Sims 4—one of these may be the original issue.  And if you find it and can fix it in your old account, you can of course go back to that account instead.

        This is really about what's most convenient to you, whether it's worth spending extra time and effort on troubleshooting or setting up your new user account just the way you like it.

      @puzzlezaddict Bit of a late reply lmao but either turning off my onedrive or changing the graphics settings worked

      (I did the one drive "turn off sync" then booted up the game, but afterwards changed the settings on the display so could be either. And is there a way to just get onedrive to stop syncing the sims documents? Because I can't unsync the documents folder as a whole)

        @DirtyBathtub  A three month gap hardly makes this a necro, and updates are always welcome both in principle and because they can help the next person with the same issue.

        I don't know of any way to force OneDrive to only sync some subfolders within the Documents directory.  (I don't actually use OneDrive myself because of the mess it can make.)  But it looks from the screenshot in this guide:

        like you might be able to open the dropdown menu for Documents and select only some of the folders inside, for example everything except the Electronic Arts folder.  Before you do this, be sure to make a backup copy of the Sims 4 folder in case OneDrive decides to eat it.
