Sims 4 reinstall downloading super slow

When the new update for the Sims 4 came out (the one with no gender specific clothing) I was forced to update the game to play. It was updating at a good rate, but a pop up saying that an error occurred would pause the download so I had to start it up again. The percentage would go down about 5 and then continue going up.

Yesterday, it was at 81% and an error screen popped up. It went back a few percentages but when it went back up, it would continuously stop at 81 and not go any higher so I was stuck. I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it. I wasn't worried about losing any active households so i was okay with deleting all my work. But now I have ANOTHER problem.

The download speed is soooo slow. It goes up about one percent every 3-5 hours which is absolutely horrible. I have no clue what to do and i feel like its going to be forever until it fully downloads.

Im so worried because this is my favorite game and im dying to play it.

  • I recommend unplugging your router, waiting for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in and then try to install the game again.

If that doesn't work, turn off everything unnecessary that connects to the internet - consoles, tablets, phones etc. because they tend to be prioritised over downloads by providers.

I can't think of anything else, but if none of my recommendations help, search "how to increase download speed" on Google.

@sabber1313 How are you connected to the router? By wifi? How many other people are connected to the router? What is the download speed of your isp?
