How to disable the automatic synchronization of Onedrive with your Documents folder (since the above comment does not actual help people who might not know how to do that).
1. Unhide you data libraries if not already - In File Explorer, Select View Navigation Plane > Show Libraries
2. Expand the Libraries Section in File Explorer's navigation pane (below This PC)
3. Click Documents under Libraries. The files and folders will be divided into 2 sections with one of them having OneDrive as it's path. Drag the files and folders from the One drive section to the other one
4. Right click on the Documents in the Navigation pane (in Libraries). Select Properties. Select Location, Then set the local location (C:\Users\yourname\Documents generally) and click set save location button
This will change your local Documents to your default Documents, rather than your OneDrive. This is the same process for all of your other files that are synced with OneDrive. Windows has recently made it rather difficult to change the settings so I hope this helps.
Hi,
So I followed the steps and looked at the libraries section of the File Explorer and it only shows the OneDrive option. The location under properties when I right click Documents under the On This PC shows OneDrive as well. Is there a way to change that? If so, could someone walk me thru it? Do I somehow need to make another library? I basically have run into the game not working because it keeps trying to pull from OneDrive...at least that's what the location path said it was doing when I checked the save route for Screen Captures. None of my save games are available or my Mods after the last update to the game. I can't figure out how to change that location path. I have tried to disable the syncing for the EA related folders with OneDrive and I tried removing them from OneDrive by highlighting and hitting "Delete" but it will show the folder periodically with an error. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the game and it STILL is trying to load it thru OneDrive. Please help.
Thank you,
Megan
PS-I literally invested over $3000 on an Alienware laptop primarily for this game so I seriously need it to work again.

@m1078744 In your third screenshot, click "Location" to see the location of the Documents folder. If you need further help in changing its location, this tutorial is quite helpful:

Once you do this, I'd recommend disabling (signing out of) OneDrive entirely, at least for now. When you've done so, restart your computer, launch Sims 4, create a new save, and see whether that save lands in the local version of Documents as it now should.
