Sims 4 saying I need a pack I never owned
I need some help for my Sims newbie sister. I've never seen an issue like this in my own games and google isn't helping us at all. She started her game up today after not playing for a little over a month. We updated everything, but when she opened it, all of her save files say that they require Get To Work. The issue is, she's never owned it. I don't know if there's some sort of trial that comes with the game now? She's only had it since about mid August, but only owns a few packs and Get To Work isn't one of them. I did some experimenting with some older saves she didn't really care about, and it didn't seem to cause any issues but it kept warning me that her game might get corrupted if she tries to play without the pack. Is this a bug? The game is downloaded in the right place, and I've been scouring the files to see if anything seems awry but it all looks fine. I even repaired it and nothing changed. I told her to not play it for now until we figure it out, I don't want it to ruin her game.
Any help is appreciated!!!!
@randadean99 Get to Work is included with an EA Play subscription, which in turn is offered with XBox GamePass Ultimate. Is it possible your sister bought a subscription or redeemed one, and now that sub has expired? That would explain how she'd played with GtW despite not purchasing it.
If your sister isn't sure, please have her look over an online guide covering GtW's content. Ask her if she recognizes any of that content, if she happened to have it in her game at some point. It would be extremely strange for the game to think that a save that had never been exposed to a given expansion needs that expansion in order to work, but people buy and cancel subscriptions all the time.
