sims 4 says its unavailable

yesterday I updated my sims 4 game since it needed an update and when I launch the game all my cc is gone. so, I close the game while i try and figure out how to get it back and then when i found out how to get my cc back I try to launch the game again, but it takes me to the EA app saying an error and I have to try again later. so, I try to find out what was going on and when I went to my library it said my sims 4 was unavailable. when I hover over the game it says I needed to uninstall the EA app version. so, when I go to do that, there is no uninstall button or anything like that. i have looked everywhere for a solution, but I can't find anything so I'm on here. I have already contacted EA support hoping they get back to me soon. I don't know if I can't uninstall the app from EA is because I originally downloaded sims 4 from steam, then it told me to get the EA app, so I don't know if I have to uninstall it from steam. However, I don't want to lose any progress. I hope one of you can help me as I'm still waiting for a response from EA support.

  • @marilynzzz1  Your saves and other user data are stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, so as long as you preserve this folder, you shouldn't lose anything.  It's best to make a backup of this folder before doing anything else.

Try using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall the game:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Uninstall the EA App with Revo as well.  I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward.  Restart again when you're done.  You don't need to uninstall Steam.
