Sims 4 screen broken/glitched
Please help! My screen looks like this (attached) and I don‘t know how to fix this. It just happened yesterday while I was in CAS. I don‘t even know what I clicked. I already repaired the game and took my mods and cc out. I also deinstalled GShade. Nothing fixed my problem yet.
@Millyfire Your dxdiag lists a number of generic Windows errors, so please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
For the issue itself, please update the Nvidia graphics driver. You can get the newest one here:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/
Choose GeForce, GTX 16 series (notebooks), GTX 1650, Windows 11, and download the first driver listed, dated October 22. Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install. Restart afterwards and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, please move the Options.ini file out of the Sims 4 folder (inside Documents > Electronic Arts) and onto your desktop, then try again. This will reset all your in-game options, but hopefully it'll also clear up the pixellation.
