Ok, so I was reading the forum and this seems to be a common problem!!! Especially in July!!!! I brought the Sims 4 (in retail store) yesterday and came home to find when it asked for me to enter the product code it says 'this code has already been used', like for many of you. I took help from EA, once on phone but 30 minutes on hold, and then online, to which I was told to go in store and exchange it for a new copy. Today I went in store and got a new copy, got home and what do you know???? Another error saying 'this code has already been used'. After speaking to online help today (again), I have to go back in store and get a new one (lucky Australian Consumer Laws are made for such circumstances). Anyway what are the chances of this happening to TWO brand new copies of the Sims 4, both coming from separate store locations. To add to this the EA also suggested that the store may be selling illegitimate copies (which i know is part of their job), but I don't think Australia's largest home entertainment retailer (this is JB-HI-FI by the way) would be selling illegitimate copies of the Sims 4, or any other game for that matter, especially when Australia and New Zealand's copies of the game are manufactured in Australia itself. Sorry bout that rambling, but all I'm suggesting this has to be some sort of manufacturing issue, with duplicate codes being printed because this just can't happen to so many people and get ignored??? Anyway if someone could look into this and see if it is in fact a 'mass' issue..... I will update this tomorrow if my THIRD copy is the same, then something has to be wrong. Also if anyone else has brought the game recently in Australia, in store, please please please let me know if your code has worked, then it probably is just a few copies, or is this happening to you too??. Sorry about all the rambling and hope this gets resolved soon!!! 🤓
