Sims 4 (Troubleshooting)

Here iv created a list on what you can try to do when you get issues with your game.

Option 1 clear origin cache here are the instructions on how to do it 

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Type "view hidden files and folders" into the search bar.
  3. Press Enter to open the View tab of your Folder Options.
  4. Open the Hidden Files and folders menu within the Files and Folders menu.
  5. Click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  6. C:\ProgramData\Origin — Everything except for the following sub directory: DO NOT DELETE: C:\ProgramData\Origin\LocalContent
  7. Origin folder in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\
  8. Origin folder in C:\Users\ <username> \AppData\Roaming\

Option 2 System Requirements 

Note Sims 4 legecy is for systems using 32 bit cs you can use a program called can you run it to see if you Pass/fail https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/the-sims-4/12305

MINIMUM SPECS:

  • OS: 64 Bit Required. Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10
  • CPU: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent)
  • RAM: At least 4 GB RAM
  • DISC DRIVE: DVD Rom Drive required for installation only
  • HARD DRIVE: At least 15 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
  • VIDEO: 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Supported Video Cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or better, ATI Radeon X1300 or better, Intel GMA X4500 or better
  • DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0,10 and 11 Compatible
  • INPUT: Keyboard and Mouse
  • ONLINE REQUIREMENTS: Internet connection required for product activation.

RECOMMENDED SPECS:

  • OS: 64 Bit Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10
  • PROCESSOR: Intel core i5 or faster, AMD Athlon X4
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 650 or better
  • MEMORY: 4 GB RAM
  • HARD DRIVE: 18 GB of Hard Drive space

Option 3

Remove your sims 4 folder from C:/Users/Your name/Documents>Eletronics arts and place the folder onto the desktop so the game can create a new one > Outdated mods can cause gameplay issues 

Option 4

download redistributable 2013 and 2015 files install the vcredist_64 & the vcredist_32 then install this fixes launch errors and Licence key errors note these links are offsite

Option 5

Go to your origin game library right-click on sims 4 and click repair game to check for corrupted files and also check for updates 

Option 6

go to the windows search bar at the bottom left and type in control panel you should see under programs, uninstall a program click then look for origin.

when you see origin right click on that and select uninstall once that is done you can download it from here https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/download

Option 7 If your viddeo drivers are outated update them to the latest drivers i will provide the links
