Deleted Files

Aloha, I logged onto my sims after over a year. My mods needed to be updates, so I downloaded the newest version. When I went to put it in the file, I also noticed that all of the mods had disappeared from files. I added the updated mod, logged back into sims. then an error code about Nisa popped up that is preventing me from playing. I looked up how to delete the mods to have a clean slate, and I ended up completely deleting the entire Sims file, but the mods and error code and download the latest version of my mod message is still popping up. There are 2 things I want to know. how do I get those to message to stop popping up even tho the entire sims file is deleted, and also, how do I regenerate the sims files so that if I can fix the problem, I can create new mods in a new folder. Im new to the whole mods thing. I did everything chatgbt told me to do. Now im left with no sims file, update the lastest version and Nisa error code file.

Selenaksantos The folder in documents\electronic arts\the sims 4 will be automatically generated when you start a new game. Are you sure you deleted the right folder?

billblogs yes, i've looked in exactly that order of files, and nothing is there, but the error code still pops up. ive tried to uninstall the sims 4 game and logged out of the EA app, Logged back in and reinstalled the EA app hoping it would regenerate new files and nothing happens. Thank you for your reply, I appreciate any further help you can offer. I have absolutely no Sims 4 folder on my computer, documents, library, or iCloud. And a new one does not regenerate after I reinstall the game.

puzzlezaddict Thank you for your response, I have absolutely no sims 4 file on in my documents, EA APP file, Electronics app file, Library, iCloud. If I uninstall and reinstall the game, it does not regenerate a new file. I have taken a look at the link you sent, ive done all the recommended things, and nothing is working. I appreciate any further help you can offer. . Id also like to mention, even though I have no sims file, when I open the game it still has a long list of mods. These are preventing me from being able to play because of the Nisa Error and to update one of the mods even though the files are no where on my computer.

  • Selenaksantos  Your computer absolutely does have a Sims 4 user folder somewhere when the game is open.  If there was no folder and it couldn't create a new one, the game would throw and error instead of even starting to load.  And since you keep getting notifications for the same mods, it's likely that folder is staying put wherever it is even after you quit.

Where exactly does the game itself say your user folder is?  It would be easier for me to have an exact location when describing what to do.  In the interim, open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, double-click the drive the game lists (probably C), and then open the successive folders you see in the game window.

The point is that while your computer has multiple Documents folders, and you may simply have been looking at the wrong one, going through File Explorer and manually opening each correct folder in sequence will get you where you need to go.

puzzlezaddict OMG I have been looking everywhere for this! Thank you so much! Im not tech savvy so I tried to look everywhere that is in plain sight. I found the folder and all the mods. I think its to complicated for me to search for what's wrong with the error codes so I did the thing where I label it old, and it made a whole new game. I don't know why any of this didn't pop up when I have been searching for days. but mahalo nui anyway!(: it was stressing me out, this next folder is going mods free lol

  • Selenaksantos  Glad to hear it helped.  You can probably play your old saves in the new folder, providing the mods didn't damage them.  Saves are unlikely to prevent the game from loading.  If you want to try, simply move the files inside saves from the old folder to saves inside the new folder, and they'll show up.
