I purchased and downloaded sims 4 university today, and when I open my game it doesn't show that it's even an option for an expansion pack. I uninstalled all of my expansion packs and game, reset my computer multiple times, and it still is not letting me play university.

Discover University doesn't appear in game
I downloaded discover university this morning however it has not appeared in my game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, been given a refund and redownloaded it again but still no luck. As I Live in New Zealand I am unable to call EA and they are unable to call me. I cannot find their e-mail and cannot access the live chat
please help

@amthers Do you have the standard version of Sims 4, or the Legacy Version? If you're not sure, go into Documents\Electronic Arts and see whether you have a folder called The Sims 4 Legacy Edition. If you do, and it has a file called config.log, then you've been launching the LE instead of the regular version. The LE doesn't support Discover University, so even if you've downloaded the pack, you wouldn't see it in-game.

@amthers The only way to play University would be to run the regular version of Sims 4. If you run Windows in 64-bit, you should be able to force TS4 to run in 64-bit via Origin. Open your Origin library, right-click on the TS4 icon, select Game Properties, then Advanced Launch Options, then choose 64-bit from the dropdown menu. If you don't see the option, right-click on the TS4 icon and select Repair, then try again.

If you have a Mac, it needs to be Metal-capable. Here's a list of all such Macs:

Otherwise, you're unfortunately stuck with the Legacy Edition, and no University.

Ive just bought Discover University, downloaded and updated the game - Ive went on to open game, start screen isn't showing the other packs that I do not own, however isn't showing Discover university. I have went in to can, still nothing showing. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game - still the exact same. Can you help me in any way as this is severely annoying, I have been waiting all day to get this sorted.

@amthers I have spoken with EA and unless you are able to upgrade your system to run Metal, you will not be able to play University. I got a refund as well. I think this is the end of it for me and Sims and EA Games. I reminded the rep today, that WE are their customers and they were amiss in their responsibility to inform us of this upcoming change before we pre-ordered their game.

It’s because of legacy you need to uninstall then when putting it back remove it as an add on
